Change of Direction

Eight months since my last entry; apparently the amount of time it’s taken me to realize my current purpose – to live up to my full potential, and influence other African Americans to do so too. Although I’d consider myself an educated female, I’ve spent the majority of my life allowing fear to control me, as most often do. I tend to stop short of reaching my full skill set, thinking it may be too much effort, that I need to learn more to succeed, or a general fear of failure. And although overcoming my fears is my current ultimate challenge (doubting myself as I type this) I KNOW, whether I believe it or not, that I have the skills, resources, and most importantly the heart to make a dramatically positive change in my life and within the world around me.
I strongly believe that given our history of ancestral enslavement and loss of culture, there’s a stream of misguidance, self hate, and confusion flowing throughout our society…
Why aren’t there more black businesses?
Why are we looked down upon by so many other cultures?
Where are our family units?
Why all the hate and violence between each other?
Do we really love ourselves?
My intent is to find out what the general populous has to say on these and other topics, with my own research. And my new objective is to share my findings with you. Stay tuned.
