The NappHappy Queens of Bed-Stuy?
The NappHappy Mantra:
We are a group of "melanated" women who choose to define ourselves by ourselves. We set an example for those who identify with us, and aim to lead by our actions and words.
We strive to be intentional with everything we do, realizing that we are being watched and relied upon for the establishment and clarity of a group of people divided and needing unity to thrive.
We choose to be conscious with our eyes open wide, and are self teaching, loving, and caring individuals. We are not perfect, but we strive to be all of the above, which makes us Queens to ourselves, our youth and to our Kings.
What We Do...
Self Development
We aim to be purposeful, exemplary, contributive, respected, educated, confident, aware, articulate, valuable, trustworthy, radiant, powerful, strong willed, compassionate, supportive, personifications of our culture.
Health & Wellness
We value whole foods, especially those uniquely beneficial to our genetics. We treat our bodies like sacred temples and actively tend to our heart, mind and spirit.
Love & Unity
We uplift each other with encouragement and positive words while providing a sisterly relationship with one another. We realize the importance of selflessness and service to others while purposefully establishing genuine connections, creating an aura of oneness between each individual.
Cultural Empowerment
We acknowledge that the stories we've been told in school about our history are NOT to be taken for face value. With unlimited access to information (the internet) as well as our own ability to experience life, we learn the truth, and spread the word.
Economic Growth
We recognize the detrimental importance of group economics, real estate investments, support businesses owned by those like us, become fiscally responsible and aware of the many facets to obtain multiple sources of income at a time, and the need to pass this information down through each generation.
It's free to join, for all self proclaimed Queens.
Residing in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn is not a requirement. All NYC borough dwellers who are willing to travel to the Bed-Stuy area for meetups are welcomed. :)
